One of our former late Prime Ministers had coined a very poignant phrase, which essentially celebrated the indispensability and necessity for farmers.

The name of the Prime Minister was Lal Bahadur Shastri, and the phrase he coined was ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.

Thus, in a bid to honor him, our expert weavers at Orissa Handlooms wove a Cotton saree which depicted a village in all its scenic beauty.

Keeping with our tradition, our saree was woven in the double Ikat weave. It is indeed quite a praiseworthy affair as the saree is so light and yet so very creatively crafted that it would make a fine addition to anyone’s wardrobe.
