This particular saree features a border adorned with Rudraksha motifs, which are sacred seeds from the Rudraksha tree, revered in Hindu mythology for their spiritual and healing properties.
The saree is made using the double Ikat technique, which involves resist-dyeing the threads before weaving to create intricate geometric patterns on both sides of the fabric. This technique is labor-intensive and requires exceptional skill, making double Ikat sarees highly prized and collectible.
The Pasapalli saree is also known as Saktapar is a bandha handloom saree weaved mainly in the Bargarh district of Odisha.
